What's Up ..the News!

WHAT'S NEW

I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with lots of good food, good friends and good times. We are now officially in the Christmas shopping season and we don't want you to forget about us here at Harbor Quilt. We
have lots of new fabrics coming in every day and ideas for gift and stocking stuffers. There are several new kits, all of them quick and easy. Come take a look at the samples.

Our newest gadget is a bobbin winder. It's small, portable, and very handy. It works with batteries and with a wall plug.   We have added new threads from Superior Thread Company. They are for machine quilting and come in lots of wonderful colors and varigations. We have also added large cones in the So Fine line from Superior in all of the colors.

You'll want to hang onto some of your spending money. In fact, stick it in aspecial hiding place now so you don't spend it all for Christmas 'cause you're going to want it for our "Clean Out The Store For Inventory" Sale. It will start the day after Christmas and last until 2pm on New Years Eve, when we will close early. We will have gobs of stuff on sale and close out prices just so we won't have to count it for inventory. But I will remind you again later in December.

December 8th is the Parade of Lighted Boats in the Harbor. I got to watch it for the first time last year from the windows of the new store. There were a few trees in the way but the leaves were gone and we had fun. Along with the Parade, the Waterfront Retailers put on a Candlelit Christmas where after the Parade of Boats everyone can go shopping along and around the waterfront. The stores that are participating will be displaying large lighted candles in front of their stores and will be open until 9pm for your shopping pleasure. Along with the shopping there will be refreshments at several of the merchants along with carolers and Santa Claus. So come out and visit us and get some of your Christmas shopping done. We'll be looking for you.

I'm trying to get a blog set up so all of you can keep up with some of the goings on of a quilt store owner.  I'll take you on my journeys and let you know about new items that come into the store.  I have been wanting to do this since my Alaska trip this past summer but I just never got around to getting it set up because the computer reception was so bad.  Then I tried to get set up for Fall Market and it just didn't happen.  Now that I am thinking about it again, I have managed to lose where it's set up.  Don't you just hate that?  I think I found the Host, now I just have to find my
password to get into it.  I'll let you know when it's up and running and I'll get a tab for it on the store website.
