MONTHLY EVENTS - come join us!
Demo Day - Every first Wednesday starting in February from 11am
to 12noon and again at 2pm to 3pm we will have demonstrations of
different notions in the store. As new things arrive, we will be
showing you how to use them. I know that there are many items that we
carry that you don't know anything about or that we even have it. Come
in and discover with us all the wonderful things we carry.
Sit & Sew - Every second Wednesday from 10:30am to 12:30pm join
us for hand work. We started doing embroidery for our block of the
months and now do what ever you want that is hand work. Bind a quilt,
hand piecing, hand quilting, anything you want.
American Hero Quilts - Every third Sunday starting at 12noon,
this group gets together to make lap quilts for our returning veterns to
show our appreciation for the work that they do. They would love to
have you come help them in any way you can. They make red, white and
blue log cabin blocks to be made into quilts. Come and get the scoop on
how to do it and volunteer your time and/or materials.
Gig Harbor Quilt Festival - Every third Tuesday the Gig Harbor
Quilt Festival group meets at 5pm. GHQF is a 501(c)3 non-profit that is
always looking for volunteers to help plan the quilt festival every
year. Anyone is welcome to join us.
Machine Quilters Group - Every third Thursday from 1:30pm to
3:30pm this group gets together to discuss all things machine quilting
whether it be long arm, mid arm or regular sewing machine.
Comfort Quilts - Every fourth Tuesday (all day) this group of
ladies get together to volunteer their time and talents to making lap
quilts for the oncology patients of Dr. Frank Senecal. They have
produced hundred of quilts over the years but sadly they can never keep
up with the need for more. You can come join the group to sew, iron and
design these tops or you can donate fabric, batting or money to purchase
supplies. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
HQ16 Demo - Every fourth Wednesday at 10:30am, 12:30pm and
2:30pm, Janey will be demonstrating different techniques you can use on
your HandiQuilter quilting machine.
